Heritage Day: St Luke's Symposium
This year our Heritage Day at St Luke's will look at both the history of medicine and medical humanities.
Prof Jane Macnaughton, of Durham University, will discuss a medical humanities approach to breathlessness, Dr Elizabeth Barrett and Dr Clare Hayes-Brady from UCD will consider reflection and resilience and recognition in healthcare while Dr Martin Dyer from TCD will talk about poems of illness and healing.
A second session will feature Dr Ciara Breathnach, University of Limerick, and Prof Mary Daly of UCD who will discuss the Dublin City Coroner’s Court 1876-1902 and Doctors and Family Planning, the challenges.
