Volunteers Wanted! Help us commemorate the Presidents of RCPI
|
Your Heritage Centre Needs YOU! |
2017
will mark the 350th anniversary of the
granting of our first Royal charter. Over the last three and a half centuries
141 men have held the office of President of the Royal College of Physicians of
Ireland, from our founder John Stearne to the current incumbent, Professor
Frank Murray.
To
mark this special anniversary we are planning to collect and publish short
biographical sketches of each of our Presidents, celebrating their medical
careers, accomplishments and widely varied interests. Did you know
that we can boast an international rugby player, charters from James Joyce and
a leading authority on a medieval mystic amongst our Presidents?
We are asking for
volunteers to get involved in this project by writing a
President's biography. You will be provided with background research on
the President(s) of your choice, a sample of completed biographies and, of
course, support from the Heritage Centre team. CPD credits are available for
those taking part.
The
completed biographies will be made available on our website and will be
published as a small book.
