Museum Project

Museum of Irish Medicine - Opening Ireland's first medical museum.

Our Vision

The RCPI Museum of Irish Medicine will be a landmark cultural destination in the heart of Dublin’s city centre. Located within RCPI’s historic home on Kildare Street, the museum will bring to life extraordinary stories from 400 years of medicinal innovation in Ireland.

Designed as an inspiring public space, the museum will celebrate Ireland’s leadership in medicine, connect visitors with centuries of discovery, and highlight RCPI’s enduring contribution to improving the health of the nation. It will welcome visitors from Ireland and around the world.

Current Activities

Over the coming months, we will advance the museum’s design and interpretation plan—shaping how the history, science, and human stories within our collections will be shared with our visitors. Our goal is to create an engaging, accessible, and thought‑provoking experience that resonates across generations.

Philanthropy and partnerships will play a central role in bringing this ambitious project to life. We look forward to working with supporters who share our belief in the power of heritage, education, and public engagement. Together, we aim to open the Museum of Irish Medicine in 2029.
